Do you feel cut off from the important things in life? Sometimes when we have our heads down we lose our connection to what really matters.
If you’ve become lost in the detail and the pragmatism of getting through your list you may well feel life’s lost some of its magic.
The pandemic has definitely not helped and neither has the fragmented state of the world right now.
The pandemic taught us a lot, not least the value of just putting one foot in front of the other and focusing on one day at a time.
That approach has definitely helped us but it’s brought with it anxiety that comes with losing our perspective. By focusing in and down, we reduce the size of our lives but also increase the intensity of our self-judgment.
In essence, we can loom too large in our own lives and we lose the sense of awe that comes from seeing our proper place in life, the world and the universe.
We need to feel connected to something bigger – something that has meaning and momentum of its own. And we need to allow ourselves to feel the sense of wonder of something so powerful.
Let’s take some time and headspace to consider the wonders around us and the small part we play in them – anything from the miracle of nature to joy of family to the size of the universe.
Reclaim that childhood sense of awe and reduce the focus on the day-to-day and look up and out at the amazing powerful thing called life that we are a part of.
