Individual Stagnation

Despite how it may seem, Perfectionists are not working at the top of their games.

It sounds counter-intuitive but because perfectionists need to be flawless, they can want to stick with what they know.

However, companies need leaders to move from ‘working on the tools’ (however brilliantly) to acting as coaches, consultants and collaborators.

Perfectionists often resist this growth because it feels risky.

They don’t delegate as much as they should, not just because they fear the quality of the work will suffer but because they fear the more senior work they will have to do instead.
