We all have those days when all our resolutions are threatened. We’ve been charging ahead but then we run out of steam or we encounter one too many barriers in our way.
So we feel justified in putting down the tools and stopping – after all, it’s to be expected, isn’t it?
I’m not the most self-disciplined person in the world, so I’ve had to find some hacks to carry me through.
Here’s a good one. When you feel like stopping, just do something to aid your progress, do a little rather than nothing.
This is not just to push yourself more – but more importantly, it tells you that you are a person who keeps going, day after day, instead of telling yourself you’re someone who quits whenever they want.
And that self-identity and self-belief is gold for your future progress. Very often when we stop completely we tell ourselves it’s only for a day but then it’s harder to get back the day after.
If instead of quitting and not progressing you do a little something, you don’t get that ‘hangover’.
