Do you recognise the tigers in your company? All drive, action, and leaping to conclusions! Nothing pushes a company forward faster, but they can be destructive when they’re held back.
The tiger has vision and they move quickly. Under pressure you can feel their impatience. That’s why we fear conflict with them.
We are right to be wary. We should enter their lair well prepared.
The tiger has no time for weakness and anything that will slow him down. He respects power and strength, so avoid grovelling!
Look your tiger in the eye and calmly but firmly and succinctly state your case. Interrupt if you have to – and give him more solution than problem.
Nobody wants tigers on the rampage, but if you remove their teeth and claws they can’t do their job. Keep your tiger running towards your goal and taking you with them. Feed them ambition, goals, achievement and winning.
Toxic behaviour destroys teams. Train them to control their impatience, to consider the effect they have and to listen. Resist the temptation to disempower them.
Let’s celebrate tigers, the engine of your team. Strap in and enjoy the ride.
